My Story
Hello!
I’m Marion, founder of Story Meadow and I’m passionate about providing the time and space for our children’s imaginations, creativity and connection to nature.
Since becoming a mum in 2016, I knew I wanted to give my children a childhood full of as many wonderful memories as possible. As they grew, I was in awe with how many creative ideas they had if I simply gave them the space and environment for them to express themselves. They've taught me to follow their lead, control less and that there's never a bad time for a great story!
In January 2024, it was time for me to go back to work after being a stay-at-home-mum for many years (which I loved and feel very lucky to have experienced). I knew I wanted to do something I loved and would be proud of, but had no idea what that might be. My daughter, Anna, had been begging me for years to share my stories and, although I was nervous, I thought I'd give it a go and approached her wonderful school. They agreed to trying an afterschool club for a half term.
The first session was a huge hit.
Children loved the stories, asking for more and to be included as characters. We built dens, treehouses, made nests together and the stories came to life outside. It was so special to see my little bedtime stories shared with more children and how much they loved them! A few weeks later, I ran a whole school Story Meadow session for Therfield First School's world book day and my after school club sold out after that. I introduced the podcast as a way for children to listen to the stories again at home, as well as for children who go to different schools - and Story Meadow grew and grew.
It's extremely important to me that Story Meadow provides a wholesome experience that I would want for my own children. Every area of our company aligns with a core vision - to protect the magic of childhood. Story Meadow provides an enchanting space for children to be inspired and play. I hope the sessions lead to games and stories even after the children go home, just like they have in our own home.
I'm incredibly proud of what we have created so far and very excited to see where the future takes us.
