30th March - 10th April

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Therfield First School

Ages 5-11

An immersive story experience like no other.

Our magical day begins with welcoming the children and starting our story. We weave in short mindfulness activities and encourage children to share their ideas as we tell the beginning of the story.

The day follows with a series of activities that relate to the story, helping to bring it to life and allowing it to grow!

Clothing

Please bear in mind that we will be outside for a large portion of the day. Children will need warm and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. A waterproof coat is essential as well as a change of clothes incase they get wet.

If the weather is wet, there are waterproof overalls available for the children to wear, so there’s no need to pack those. Our day will still go ahead as planned unless there are extreme weather warnings.

Key highlights include:

  • Captivating storytelling
  • Treasure hunts
  • Building with loose parts
  • Weaving in emotional intelligence
  • Short mindfulness activities
  • Natural arts and crafts
  • Dens, bug hotels and nest making
  • Bubble parties

We use a different story each day so no two days are ever the same and children are thrilled to come back for another Story Meadow adventure.

Your child will enjoy a full day of immersive storytelling, wonder, and creativity. All set in Therfield First School's wonderful grounds!

FAQ:

My child doesn't go to Therfield First School. Can they come?

Absolutely! All children aged 5-11yrs are very welcome. They do not need to be a Therfield pupil.

What do we need to bring?

- Named water bottle

- Packed lunch (no fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolate or nuts), including a snack for break time.

- Weather appropriate clothing (hat, raincoat, wellies, gloves)

What certificates/training do staff have?

Our staff members are:

- Enhanced CRB checked

- Trained in Safeguarding

- Trained in Paediatric First Aid

My child doesn't know anyone going. Will they be left out?

Your child will be welcomed in from the moment they come to Story Meadow. We are an extremely friendly team and places are limited to 30 which means we all get to know each other very quickly. We are also deliberately overstaffed which means we have excellent staff-to-children ratios and will have plenty of eyes to make sure everyone is having a brilliant time all day long!

What will happen if it rains?

Our special day will go ahead even in the rain or cold. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather. In hot weather, activities will take place in the shady areas of the school field. In extreme cases, sessions may need to move indoors.
